New! Electrical Safety For Emergency Responders -

Awareness Program

The Municipal Health and Safety Association recently launched its Electrical Safety For Emergency Responders – Awareness Program. An off shoot of the MHSA's one-day Electrical Safety For Emergency Responders Program and based on the Electrical Safety Handbook for Emergency Responders, this ½ day Awareness Program provides an overview of the information you need to know, to work safely in hazardous situations, such as: fallen or low hanging wires; motor vehicle accidents; emergencies on power line equipment; emergencies on transmission rights-of-way; emergencies in substations; and emergencies in underground installations. This course will explain, the basics of electricity, the health effects of electrical shock and the equipment and procedures required to protect workers and patients in emergencies.
