Out Client Service Specialists are located throughout Ontario and they are available to meet with you to discuss your needs. To locate the Client Service Specialist for your area, visit the MHSA website at www.mhsao.com.

Consultation

The MHSA Client Service Specialists are available to assist you with health and safety advice and training. Our experts can meet with you, conduct a health and safety audit of your organization, help you to develop a comprehensive health and safety program, and deliver health and safety training to your employees.

Occupational Hygiene Consultations

MHSA has a Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) on staff that is available to provide advice on occupational exposures, air sampling protocols and occupational disease prevention. MHSA's Hygienist will assist you with the identification and determination of appropriate evaluation procedures that will assess workplace hazards and improve worker well-being and productivity.

Research and Information

The MHSA can help your organization develop a health and safety program for your employees by providing you with valuable research and information. Not only are we available to meet with you and conduct training programs to your employees, but we also have a comprehensive library of videos and publications that will assist in developing and maintaining your health and safety program. The MHSA website is also a good source of accurate and up-to-date information including health and safety policies, legislation and MHSA-produced documents such as the MHSA newsletter, training calendar and various other publications. The MHSA website can be accessed at www.mhsao.com.

Health and Safety System Assessment

The MHSA has a comprehensive electronic system assessment program that helps organizations to determine the effectiveness of their health and safety management system and identify areas where improvements can be made, essentially creating a “blueprint” for future and current needs. An MHSA Client Service Specialist can conduct a full health and safety system assessment of your work premises that models the requirements of Workwell and the legislative standards of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Once the system assessment is completed, you will receive a comprehensive report on your health and safety situation, and how your organization measures up to current legislative requirements. Based on the recommendations in the report, your organization may decide to either improve existing or create new policies to meet legislative compliance.

Seminars/Training

The MHSA offers comprehensive seminars and training programs to address a variety of health and safety needs. Our educational services include: Internet programs for individualized learning; classroom, instructor-led training either on-site or at an MHSA facility; and train-the-trainer programs for individual organization participation. In addition, all of our programs are fully supported through print and video training resources.

Specialty/Technical Services

The MHSA offers a variety of hands-on, practical training, particularly in its Emergency Responder Programs area. These specialty programs are geared towards front-line emergency responders, including Police, Firefighters and Paramedics and provide the technical training required by these groups in various situations, including Confined Space and Trench Rescue.

Human Resources and Ability Management

The MHSA’s core business is the provision of health and safety training and consulting services, but we are often faced with client issues that do not fall directly within our mandate. To offer you a wider range of services to address your needs, the MHSA recently entered into partnerships with E. Dean and Associates and Acclaim Ability Management Inc. These two organizations can provide you with the human resources and ability management services that you require for your staff. To access a full range of human resources services, contact E. Dean and Associates directly at (519) 538-4391. To access services to assist you with any ability management issues within your organization, contact Acclaim Ability Management Inc. directly at 1-877-867-6064.
