You have important legal responsibilities to protect the health and safety of your employees.

As a supervisor, you must:

  • know the health and safety legislation
  • know the hazards in your workplace, and
  • ensure that your workers comply with regulations.
In addition, you are expected to:
  • promote awareness of health and safety
  • establish and enforce healthy and safe work practices
  • resolve work refusals
  • investigate accidents, and
  • report certain injuries and accidents to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Ministry of Labour.
Our new Health and Safety for Supervisors and Management training program will give you and all your supervisors the information they need to carry out these legal responsibilities.


Health and Safety for Supervisors and Management is a 2-day, 11-module training program led by an experienced consultant and instructor from the Municipal Health and Safety Association. The course fee is $300 per person and includes all course materials.

  2. Supervisor's Role
  3. Legislation
  4. Communication
  5. Occupational Health Hazard Recognition and Control
  6. Slips, Trips and Falls
  7. Ergonomics
  8. Workplace Inspection
  9. Accident Investigation
  10. Emergency Preparedness
  11. Review and Implementation.
